hi there!
since this morning I've used 3-4 hours trying to get Digikam to work again. googling away, I'm going crazy from reading heaps of technical stuff that I don't get. It might be about half a year ago that I last used Digikam. I've updated my windows to the very last version a few days ago. this morning I even uninstalled both Digikam and MariaDB SQL. restarted my laptop and reinstalled witch was quite a hurdle in it's self. I couldn't remember half of what I learned last time I installed it. I used the .msi installer for both Digikam and MariaDB. everything I know about technical stuff is self-learned so please use simple terms and instructions though I've coded a bit it's really not much. Every time I try to open Digikam I end up getting different errors.. I'm afraid that I actually caused some of those not knowing what I am doing. So I hope that you can guide me through this so that I don't make bad things worse. so from what I remember, I've: -uninstalled both -reinstalled both -configurated Digikam to know where MariaDB is located -repaired MariaDB -checked that MariaDB is running -tried to disable my antivirus(F-Secure) -restartet my laptop at least 5 times. both are located on D: drive versions are: Digikam 7.1.0 MariaDB 10.5 right now I got a new error again.. it said that there's missing some kind of permission to some "table" could it be because I made a password for MariaDB when installing? how do I remove that password? and then I got this: <http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/file/t377280/billede_2021-03-16_135353.png> now nothing happens at all when trying to open digicam. all this is just while I'm typing. and I'm quite convinced that new errors will come on the way to fixing this mess'*_* I really hope that you can help me. and sorry for this messy text.. my head hurts.. Thank you in advance! -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
You are using the internal MySQL database, according to the screenshot.
Ok, I have bad news, the database is probably broken. We had a bug in digiKam-7.1.0 and lower that we did not shut down the internal database server correctly when quitting digiKam. This could destroy the database. This problem has been fixed in the current release candidate of digiKam-7.2.0. Please download here: https://files.kde.org/digikam/ You have to delete the MySQL database in the specified folder and start with a new one. Maik Am Dienstag, 16. I was quite excited about the thought that I just needed to install the new
version.. but I just uninstalled both digikam and mariadb.. restarted.. and then installed both.. I used the link you sent. I tried to start digikam and after a while of waiting.. this error came up: <http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/file/t377280/billede_2021-03-18_123325.png> -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
Ok, you didn't have to reinstall MariaDB. It is important that you use
digiKam-7.2.0 from the source I wrote. It is also not necessary to uninstall / install multiple times. You have to start with a new database, you specified this folder for the database during the first installation: D:\Users\Bruger\Dropbox\Billeder\ DigiKam created the MySQL database in this folder. So you have to delete the folder ".mysql.digikam". Maik Am Donnerstag, 18.
