[digiKam-users] Wrong overlay position

DK 5.9.0 appimage on Manjaro with XFCE

As you can see from the screen capture, when I hover the mouse over
the image, the top part of the overlay is above the screen and I can't
see it.

Now it's not all the time. When I open DK, no problem, but after a
while of writing my captions, tags, labels... this is what happens.

Is this a bug, a setting or an XFCE setting?

Yes also happens with DK6, but now I have narrowed it to:

it happens after I right click on the image and open with. When I
come back, that's when the display is wrong.

BTW, it changed the db (it took 3.5 hours to find new items)
without asking for my permission and I had to restore from my backup.
