[digiKam-users] When removing albums, is there some indication of progress that I don't see?

Rafael Linux
From time to time, I remove some albums with RAW images (10 - 30 files) but
despite I do not enable "Move to recycle bin", it takes some time but I do
not see anything in status bar ... is this normal or I'm missing something
(to enable some feature or similar).

Thank you

I think this problem have been fixed in current 6.0.0 code, not in 5.x.

Rafael Linux
Sorry, but ... when you talk about "problem" , do you refer to slow deletion
or about Digikam should show some indicator about the progress that I can't
see in 5.9 version?

The progress indication.

About the slow operation to recycle items, do you use mysql database ?

Rafael Linux
No, is the SQLite database in this case.

Rafael Linux
And maybe I explain myself correctly: Albums were deleted, not send to recycle bin.

Re: When removing albums, is there some indication of progress that I don't see?

digikam do not use the desktop recycler. It have a dedicated trash for each root collection.

Why ? because the API are different to access to recycler contents between OS and desktop. More, under some OS, you need right to acess to recycler (Windows for ex).

So, it's the hell and the puzzle.

Re: When removing albums, is there some indication of progress that I don't see?

Rafael Linux
I didn't know that detail about recycler. It's more complicated that I was
thinking.

Anyway, I told you about the fact that I was not using the "Recycler" but
just deleting completly the albums cause that detail makes rarer the slow
deletion. No using the recycler should be faster than using it, but it's not
happening.
