I played with themes a while ago

http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digiKam-users-Dark-themes-for-digikam-td4709037.html), and basically what you have to do is create or edit a Plasma Color Scheme

https://store.kde.org/browse/cat/112/ord/rating/ ) which are text files
with the .color extension. Then, place it to
/home/username/.local/share/digikam/colorschemes (Create the "colorschemes"
folder if it does not exist) or, if you use Windows, to: C:\Program
Files\digiKam\data\digikam\colorschemes.
If you do not want to edit the theme by hand, you can use KDE's color theme
editor in its settings menu.
This is just for the color scheme. For the actual theme (icons, shape of the
buttons, etc) is a bit harder.
