[digiKam-users] Running Under WSL vs Running Windows Port?

Jeff Arnold
With the (legit) improvements made to WSL in Windows 1909 I have been able to get digiKam to run via AppImage.  It seems to be both stable and performant.

Is there any reason I should run the Windows port over the AppImage (or vise versa)?

(P.S. - Thanks in advance for not bashing (pardon the pun) me for not just running everything on Ubuntu or similar.)

Cheers!

Hi,

I personally tested WSL one year ago in my office for console application.

So, the GUI application sound like mature now. How did you configure the Linux graphical layer ? X11 or Wayland ?

About native Windows versus WSL, i don't know. This depend how the Windows host share system access to Linux guest.

Best

X11 under mobaXterm, which seems to leverage Xming.
