[digiKam-users] Rotate Suggestion

Alex Antão
Hi,

I have a lot of photos that are upside down, or 90º rotated, with no EXIF data indicating it's rotation.
Is there a way to Digikan analyse my library, detect and make rotation suggestions for those photos ? Or a plugin ?

  Google Photos sometimes does that.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can use the Batch Queue Manager to rotate files in batch, but
without EXIF info it's not possible to auto-rotate.

You must pre-select files from the icon view with same rotation to
process and push items to a BQM queue with rigth rotation setting.

This want mean the pre-selection is manual. Rotation on the queue will
be done in batch, which is the longer task to apply on files.

With today's DNN frameworks this is possible even w/o EXIF info:  https://d4nst.github.io/2017/01/12/image-orientation/

Markus,

This is an excellent idea. Please file a wish in bugzilla about this
topic (if it do not exists) and join a link to this paper as first
approach.

My best
