Hello,
Digikam 6.4 git has a new context menu item in the album tree called "Reset hidden grouping". What does this do? Regards Jens |
There were scenarios when grouping images and then deleting some of the grouped images outside of digiKam caused the rest of the images in the group not being visible in digiKam. That new option solves that. Another supplement. The status bar now displays a hint if not all images are
visible. The cause can be a hidden grouping or by versioning. A hidden group can also arise when images are grouped beyond album boundaries. Maik Am Donnerstag, 19. Ok, now that we're at it:
A grouped picture will only be shown in an album if that picture is the one on top of the "stack". Now we have that hint at the toolbar which is great, but is this an intended behavior? Sometimes I group duplicated (or very similar) images from different albums, without minding the order, and it's not intuitive not seeing some pictures that should be in a folder. I thing it would be easier if the album showed grouped pictures in it regardless of which is the one being "on top". -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
The hint in the status bar now gives the user the opportunity to see why not
all images are visible. We often have bug reports where users do not yet understand that active versioning can hide files. We then get a bug report with the content that digiKam displays only 9 images although there are 10 in the directory. The story with the grouping is complicated. We have a bug report where the user does not want grouping over album boundaries possible. But I see that you are using it and that was also my answer in the bug report that users are using it quite well. That the images of a closed group are not visible, is so intentional. Even if the group leader is in another album. The virtual search albums here may be different behavior. So with this option, the user now has the opportunity to make the images in an unwanted grouping on album boundaries, this now again visible. Without first looking for the group leader or change the database. That the option in the context menu only appears when we recognize a diffrenz of images in the album for display, we can discuss.
