Maybe me but I have been unable to get batch rename to work on multiple
files. A single file rename works OK as long as I also set another option like remove metadata and run it. However doing the same with 95 file selected the rename happens BUT and its a BIG BUT the file is not renamed according to my template which uses the exif original date field and yes the field exists in every image the template ends up with just the initial text and digikam adds an ID as the file names all end up the same. Also why am I unable to do just a batch rename without a dummy item like remove metadata added? Are these know issues? I am using 6.1 on openSUSE Tumbleweed. Stuart |
I guess you use the BQM to rename? To rename, use F2 (right-click menu->
rename). Although the BQM includes a rename function, the BQM always has to create a new target file. It is used to assign edited images a new name. Maik Am Sonntag, 30. Yes I had already selected the 24 photos I needed to rename and copied
them to a separate album, all I needed was to rename then using data from the exif of each and did not need new copies to be done. Now I can see why perhaps the current way is default but I need an option to just rename photos in an album without creating new ones. I do this a lot and really want to be able to use digikam for my workflow but currently it does not do what I need. I'm not sure that it even works correctly as you suggest so will do some more testing. Stuart On 30/06/2019 12:44, Maik Qualmann wrote: > I guess you use the BQM to rename? OK so just tested again and attempted to both rename and remove metadata
(just xmp video metadata selected) from 24 photos and output to a separate album. The rename was Prom-[meta:Exif.Image.DateTimeOriginal].[ext]. The photos were all added to the new album but the rename just called the Prom-.JPG which ends up with one file called that and all the others called Prom-_v1.jpg through to Prom-_v23.jpg. So I think the rename function is buggy. Can anyone explain how I can achieve my aim please in digikam. I know there are tools under windows but I'm a Linux user and want a batch program to do this. The problem is [meta:Exif.Image.DateTimeOriginal]. There is usually no date in
Exif.Image. Use [meta: Exif.Photo.DateTimeOriginal]. It works without problems. Maik Am Montag, 1. Yes but it works if only one photo is selected and the correct time and date is added to the new file name!!
