Dear digikam users,

I'm using the 5.8 appimage on ubuntu 17.10.
I was wondering why we open the preview window, there is a small window on the top of the screen which display both the current opened image and the previous one?
It's very boring if we wants to manage face tags on the upper part of the picture.

I had also this proble with the 5.7 appimage, but not with the 5.6 release.

Is there a way to review this slideshow of two pictures when we double click on a picture?

Kind regards

Matthieu

The thumbnail bar is a floating view. It mostly dockable but can be un-docked from main view (your case).

Personalty i hate un-dockable view as Gimp has. This break the HCI and end user can be lost quickly (your case).

For a unknown reason , your thumbnail bar is un-docked. To re-dock the view, take a side border and move it somewhere on the a side of preview canvas (top, or bottom, or left, or right).

Note : in the future, the dockable/un-dockable state must be removed in favor of a settable position over canvas. It will be more simple to handle from end users.
