Is there some instructions on how to migrate from sqlite to the internal MySQL? I have Mariadb 10.1.35-1 installed, including the client, but it doesn't show up in the conversion tool: https://i.imgur.com/sPYYgxP.png -- sknahT vyS |
Extend the dialog to the screen size. What do you see in Binary list view ? Gilles Caulier 2018-09-01 21:10 GMT+02:00 <[hidden email]>: DK 5.9.0 appimage |

Again, you can not start or set up an internal MySQL server during migration.
You use SQlite, so you start digiKam, go into the settings of digiKam under database and select internal MySQL server. In principle, you only have to specify a directory where the MySQL database should be created. After OK, you will be asked to add a collection, here simply enter an empty directory, so that it is faster and you want to migrate the SQlite DB. Now you can migrate your SQlite DB, then restart digiKam. A special feature is the AppImage, if the mysqld is not found, you have to select it manually (/sbin/mysqld eventually). Drag the window a bit larger, it's hidden. I hope you can do something with this guide. Or should I create a screencast? Maik Am Samstag, 1. Here is the link to the screencast. It takes a while for Google to encode the
video in all sizes and it's sharp. The demo only uses a very small SQlite collection. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t6u1emc8_x8thZGsYZ64Ve3-kZ1ApFO7/view? usp=sharing Maik Am Samstag, 1. I will be trying the conversion over the weekend. I was missing the 1st step which is to create the database in the config tools. Thank you very much. Maybe the video should be posted somewhere on digikam.kde -- sknahT vyS |
There is nothing missing in the screencast. You see the complete change from
SQlite to internal MySQL. The database is automatically created by digiKam if it does not already exist. This happens at the point where you select internal MySQL and exit the setup with OK. Again, to understand, internal MySQL has nothing to do with a running local MySQL server. DigiKam creates the database and a server instance itself and terminates it. The communication is via a socket file. Maik Am Sonntag, 2.
