DK 6.1 appimage on Leap 15.1 KDE
I'm having problem viewing some of the "extra stuff" in DK. I've tried all the themes that come with DK without success. I'm old. I'm looking for something clear that tells me where I am on the screen for example: with 'fusion grey' or 'grey card', I cannot see the "thumb" (the part that moves up and down with the position on the list) I also like the 'color contrast' but it's also missing many items as contrast and especially to see what is activated. 1. Is there some other themes to try? 2. Is there some way of modifying these themes to make it more contrasty? -- sknahT vyS |
You mean the slider of the scrollbar? Which color theme did you set in Leap?

I agree. DK theme colors have accessibility lacks. I'm web developer and we use rules to avoid this situations. There are several sites in Internet where you can check the accessibility degree of your the colours you pretend to use. I don't know if KDE give developers tools to check the same for UIs. One of the main problems, however, is that we can only provide the Fusion
Style in the AppImage. This does not draw many color gradations. Is good to see on the bad visibility of the CheckBoxes. But other style engines like Breeze need a lot of dependencies. In the end, the AppImage would be a second desktop in scope. All color themes contained in digiKam already exist in the world of KF5. Search or create a nice color theme under a KF5 desktop and we will integrate it. Maik Am Dienstag, 9. Juli 2019, 10:13:51 CEST schrieb Rafael Linux User: > I agree. Here's the screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/dTLd4YZ.jpg 1. Can't clearly see the left tab or the right tab 2. Can't clearly see the slider of the scrollbar 3. Don't really know which panel is active. Am I in the center (the images) or on any of the left or the right panels? 4. Don't know which image I am on, so the caption/metadata/properties... what do they relate to? Hey, now that you are discussing digikam themes, are these the same as the
Plasma Color Schemes that can be found here? https://store.kde.org/browse/cat/112/ In theory I could add one of these ".colors" files in digikam, and it would be listed in the themes menu, right? (I know I can't do that directly on the appimage, but I could unpack and pack it with the file). In that case, is there any color scheme editor for these files, or are they created by hand? It would be then quite easy to try alternative schemes or fine-tune existing ones. -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
Yes, just unzip to "/usr/share/digikam/colorschemes/". Does not work with the
AppImage. Of course, a KF5 desktop also has an editor. But they are simple text files and easy to understand. It should be possible to add the home directory as a search path. Then, color themes under "$HOME/.local/share/color-schemes/" would also be found. Problem is the fusion style of the foreground and background colors changed. Maik Am Dienstag, 9. New color schemes are already found without any changes to the code under
"$HOME/.local/share/digikam/colorschemes/", also with the AppImage. Maik Am Dienstag, 9. Juli 2019, 19:54:09 CEST schrieben Sie: > Yes, just unzip to "/usr/share/digikam/colorschemes/". I do not know exactly what you want to emphasize and if it is even possible.
Here is a screenshot of my digiKam. Just mark what you think, which is not clear. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1imBkiRcB5rmMvnRScFMZqN7ufOfTRWHg Maik Am Mittwoch, 10. I use Win 10 and note that my local address is:
C:\Program Files\digiKam\data\digikam\colorschemesI note that the color schemes are text files, easily examined using notepad+ + (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/) Presumably, one could copy an existing colorscheme, edit the copy under a new name, and have one customized for personal use. I note that colors are designated in (r, g, b) using sRGB normalized to 0-255 byte. James M. Orr

Some like me, ALL obscure themes have sidebars tabs text/icons unreadable

I use the "blackbody" theme, and I have light text on a dark background... Switching to any of the other dark themes doesn't change that. Remco |
I'm using one of the defaults OpenSUSE Plasma themes ("OpenSUSE" theme). But
even with "Brisa dark", same result. The only way to see side tabs text/icons is with "Brisa", the only bright theme. But there is clear Digikam is applying a different text color the side tabs. It's distinct from the toolbar (that is always visible) and should be equal. Check it in previosly attached screenshots. Please, apply to side tabs text/icons same text color that the main toolbar. And that grays out the whole right sidebar for me, with no text for , except the tab labels... After all, the right sidebar is mostly displaying information concerning the *current* image, which doesn't exist in your screenshot (the *only* one I've seen from you, btw.) Concerning the tab labels, have you checked in Digikam settings, "Views" section, if you have custom fonts active: the first two tabs ("Icons" and "treeviews") allow using either the system font or a custom font. Thing is, now I know you are also using OpenSUSE, I can try to reproduce the problem. *Try* is the key here: I cannot get a combination where the labels become unreadable. But I'm using the Digikam 6.1.0 from OpenSUSE Leap 15.0, KDE:Extra repo, so *not* the appimage version. And as Maik explained rather early in this thread, the appimage versions only have one style engine (Fusion), which seems to be a fairly limited one (understandable, as you want to keep an appimage reasonably compact). Perhaps that explains the problems you see. Good luck Remco |
