[digiKam-users] Keyboard dumb question?

digikam-2
DK 5.9.0 appimage on Manjaro XFCE.

What is the meta key?

I have a standard Cherry G80 keyboard. Here's an image:

When I press: left-windows key-ctrl-f1: I get tty1. Also tried with
the right-windows key and also tried the context key. No go...

Yes, Meta == Windows key. Ctrl + Meta + F1 works as it should. Console 1 is
CTRL + Alt + F1.

Thanks. I was pressing the meta/windows key first like it shows in
the configure shortcuts. Ctrl key first works.

The keys sequence plays a role? Not here. What you all have for strange Linux
distributions? ((:-))

Manjaro which is a slight "re-cook" of archlinux. I doubt that it's
the distribution, more likely to be the desktop environment. I use
xfce.

Emacs user here. To me, the "Meta"-key is, on a PC keyboard, the <ALT> key. I'd call the <Windows>  key "Super"-key instead. Which is what I've also seen across the web so far. CTRL-Meta-Fx then indeed switches consoles as expected :)

Not in front of a Linux box now but, afair, the Super-key gets intercepted by gnome-shell instantly to go to the activities screen. It may be very tricky to assign this as a combination to other shortcuts; sequence of key presses (CTRL first or Super first) may indeed matter.
