Because I have disk space problems I need to move some albums to a new
album which is mounter on a new Linux partition. I decided to use digikam to do the move because I thought it would correct the database along the way as there are many hundreds of images to be moved in several albums to the new location. I did this by dragging and dropping the old album on the new location and selected move here. The move took place but does not now show up in the new location even if I refresh or close and restart digikam. I am using 5.8 but just tried 5.9 appimage to see if the moved album will show up but no luck it does not show anywhere - old or new location. Anyone any ideas please? If you check the files in the file browser, have the pictures been moved to
the new location? If that's the case, maybe Digikam didn't automatically scan for new pictures, and you need to refresh the database manually (Tools, Maintenance, "Scan for new items" and "Perform database cleaning"). -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
Yes the files were moved OK but even after doing what you suggested the
moved stuff does not show up in either its old location or the new one in digikam. However the file structure on disk is perfect. That is with Digikam 5.9.0 from the OpenSuse KDE:Extra repository (the standard repo has 5.5.0) under OpenSuse Leap 42.3 Remco |
Well I had to resort to removing the albums in question from digikam and
moving them outside of digikam and the re-adding them to digikam and wait ages while it found all 6 years worth of photos and added them to the database. Nothing I tried made the moved album I tried it with re-appear. Not impressed.
