I have a few images that cause a (minor) error about their IPTC data
in a static gallery generator program (sigal). When I look at them in Digikam (I'm running the 6.3 appimage in Linux) I really don't understand what I'm looking at when I select "Edit Metadata" in the Item menu. How can I tell whether the metadata I am looking at is in the database or the image? ... *and* how can I 'synchronise' the metadata in the iamge and the database in a way that ensures I don't lose any data? As it is Digikam is showing a Title: for these images in the Description section on the right hand side of the main window but I can't find this title anywhere in the "Edit Metadata" pop-up window. So where is this title I can see stored? -- Chris Green · |
Hi, If you modify file metadata, and after you force digiKam to sync database with file metadata, the database will be updated with your changes. Look Album menu option named "Reread metadata from files". Maintenance tool has also a section to sync back database with file metadata. If you just want to see what metadata a picture has, use the Metadata panel
on the right. Some contents might be filtered out by default, so make sure you are displaying all the information. Another alternative, just to make sure, is using this website: http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi It will tell you all metadata a picture has, so if it's there, it's definitely written in the picture. And you can always sync the database information to the picture metadata, and viceversa, as Gilles explained. -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
