[digiKam-users] GIMP 2.10

I understand that currently 5.9 doesn't support the new xcf files.

1. Will it in the future?
2. What setting do I need to have so that the .xcf files stays with
the raw files when they are moved, copied or deleted?

You can treat them as sidecars. There is a setting to add additional sidecars e.g. pp3 for that very reason.

Good question, and this must be ask to KDE core developpers.

You must know that we don't have any Gimp file format wrapper in digiKam source code.

We use a plugin mechanism provided by Qt about QImage loader. KDE give the KImgageformat framework dedicated for that and supporting Krita and Gimp file format.


The code in this framework is not well maintained. About Gimp support, there are entries in bugzilla :
