[digiKam-users] Exporting to Local Drive, Kipi Plug-ins

Shai Gluskin
Hello,

I'm using DigiKam 7.1 on Linux Mint 20.

I'm having trouble exporting images to my local drive. In researching a solution I found a post suggesting to install Kipi Plugins. I've done that. I still can't export images to local storage.

The Kipi Plugins do not show up in the plug-in manager.

This is the error I get trying to export to local storage:

I would welcome help with the general issue of exporting to local storage or the problem using Kipi plug-in.

Thanks so much for the great software.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response, we just were busy releasing 7.2.0-beta2 a few days ago.

Since 6.0 release kipi-plugins support has been dropped in favor of DPlugins architecture.

But for your problem this doesn't change anything.

If you can try with the 7.2.0-rc AppImage instead of your Linux based version, this can help. Start digiKam from a console and report all traces listed while to use the tool.

Best regards

Hi Gilles,

 7.2.0-beta2 worked like a charm!

And FYI I was using the "strip metadata" feature on the export and that worked perfectly.

Local export is important to me because I like to strip metadata before uploading anything to social media.

Thanks,

Shai
