[digiKam-users] Digikam 7.1 won't launch on MacOS Big Sur

Just downloaded 7.1 and installed it. When I launch the app the process just keeps using 100% CPU but the window never opens. I have already deleted my current configuration files but it still won't launch.

Are others seeing this too and is there a way to get more information about what's going on? Are there any log files?

Hi,

If you use M1 computer based, you need to use the Rosetta2 emulator.

But i recommend highly checking out the 7.2.0 release candidate which
is so far better under macOS. I closed personality plenty of bugs and
make digiKAm fully compliant with Apple stuff.

hanging again for more than 90 minutes with 100% CPU.

This is with an Intel CPU.

Where are your collections ? on main disk, on the network, on a removable disk ?

Can you start digiKam from a console following tips is contribute page :

Did you include the Apple Photos repository where database and
internal application files are located ?

Long album loading times under MacOS is usually the reason that the option to
monitor the albums for external changes was activated in the collection
settings. This option must be deactivated under MacOS.

I have done another reset and now it seems to be working. I am not sure if I
checked this option last time but this time I made I didn't check it.
