[digiKam-users] DigiKam efficient (keyboard) tagging

Peter Albrecht
Hello list,

back in 2012 I have found a great way of efficient tagging photos in digiKam and
wrote this article:
https://www.digikam.org/news/2012-01-21_Efficient_photo_tagging_with_digikam/

The tagging was:
  * typing a few letters of your tag
  * use the tab key for autocompletion

This worked well in digiKam 4.4.0. But now with digiKam 5.3.0 (Debian Stretch)
this workflow does not work anymore. The TAB key moves the input focus from the
tag input field to the next dialog control.

Does some know another way of efficient tagging in digiKam 5.3.0?
Is there an efficient way of tagging in digiKam 5.9.0?
How do you tag lots of photos fast?

Kind regards,
           Peter

Use the down key instead of the tab key to complete or select the tag name.

Hi Maik,

thanks for the hint. Using the "up key" works well in my case.

Although my fingers have to move a longer distance now to reach the autocomplete
key. But still way better than using the mouse.

Kind regards,
