I have some old DNG files (generated with DK exporting) and in DK 6.1
thumbnails are like noise (like in old analogic TV) and the new ones generated with Darktable like HDR, have not thumbnails (they are generic icons) that doesn't show anything when opened in Digikam (Darktable can read them without problems). Maybe is a bits per channel incompatibility? I read HDR have 32 bits/channel .... -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
Can you provide a test image?

Another Q :Can you reproduce the dysfunction with 6.2.0 pre release AppImage Linux bundle ? Gilles Caulier Le mer. 26 juin 2019 à 04:55, Maik Qualmann <[hidden email]> a écrit : Can you provide a test image? |
With the digikam-6.2.0-git-20190618T151249-qtwebkit-x86-64.appimage , the
same result. The DNG is about 77MiB, so I don't know how to share here but with a WeTransfer link https://we.tl/t-5URO7ZTkU9 -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
This is a DNG with floating point image data. This DNG was not created with
digiKam. DigiKam currently has no support for floating point data. Maik Am Donnerstag, 27. MAik, At least, the floating point DNG file must be supported in DK. Remember that DNG are decoded by libraw in background and passed to DImg Loader as 16 bits color depth encoded image. So i suspect a problem with libraw, not digiKam. Gilles Le jeu. 27 juin 2019 à 08:07, Maik Qualmann <[hidden email]> a écrit : This is a DNG with floating point image data. Well, when looking for the DNG file generated some years ago with DK that is
rendered as noise, I realized that "Advanced search" doesn't include "DNG" as image format. Please, include it. I'll continue looking at hand, but today I didn't find it that way. At respect of the library, should I understand that DT does not use libraw? Thank you -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |

Just to confirm, create an empty collection from scratch using a new test account, include some DNG files, and try search tool to see if problem is reproducible. Please, include it. I'll continue looking at hand, but yes, DT use a dedicated raw decoding engine internally. Gilles Caulier |
I have a doubt about what do you mean with "Create a test account", do you
mean in my Linux distro? In that case, I guess that root account will not be useful to try your steps, is not it? -- Sent from: http://digikam.1695700.n4.nabble.com/digikam-users-f1735189.html |
yes, create a new user account (never use root), run digiKam to create a new test database, import few DNG files, scan, and try to use adv search tool. Only ever use root for admin functions that need privileged access. Never use it for normal functions such as running digikam etc. Andrew |
