[digiKam-users] DK 5.9 doesn't like gimp 2.10

It's an old problem.
gimp-2.10 thumbnails are not displayed in digikam-5.9
Any hope to get solution?

The XCF thumbnail are generated by KDE imageio thumbnailers which extend Qt image loader with extra image format.

https://cgit.kde.org/kimageformats.git/tree/src/imageformats

install this package and it must work.

kimageformats 5.45.0-1 (kf5) is already installed on my (Arch linux)
system but  .xcf thumbnails created with gimp-2.10 or 2.9 are not
displayed. Thumbs created with all gimp 2.8 versions are displayed.
Problem is present from gimp-2.9

Substantial rewrite of layer modes and how they are stored in XCF
Add LZMA2 compressed file support (.xcf.xz/.xcfxz)
Internal tile compression for XCF is now zlib (instead of RLE)

Well, it's clear, if XCF format has changed, the thumbnailer must be updated...

Dolphin-18.0.4, Nautilus-3.28 and Thunar-1.6.15 can display new .xcf
format created with gimp-2.10

I reported this KImageFormats bug (2 years old!) here. I hope It's the
right place...

I reported this KImageFormats bug (2 years old!) here. I hope It's the right place...
