[digiKam-users] Can one *set* Location information with Digikam?

Chris Green
Is it possible to *set* Location (i.e. City, SubLocation,
Province/State, Country) with Digikam?  I have a lot of scanned images
whose location I would like to set.

I thought it might be possible using Geolocation by finding a place on
the map and clicking on it but this doesn't seem to work.  Have I
missed something?

Drag and drop images on the map. Then you can use reverse geocodding to convert GPS coordinates to location names

I can't currently get this to do what I want.

I can get the GeoLocation of a number of images set by selecting them
in 'Map' and dropping one onto the correct location on the map.
However I can't seem to get a named location set from that.

I've selected "Apply Reverse Geocoding" and clicked all the Apply
buttons I can see but there's still no location set.

I used that tool a few days ago. In the reverse geocoding tool, you have to
right click on the tag list and add the fields you want to include (e.g.
country, state, province, town, street, etc.). It's not very intuitive at
first, but it's well explained here, with screen captures and all:
