[digiKam-users] 2 monitors

digikam-2
DK6b3: 28-Dec-2018

I have 2 monitors:

$ xrandr
Screen 0: current 3840 x 1080
HDMI-0 connected primary 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 510mm x 290mm
   1920x1080     60.00*+
DVI-D-1 connected 1920x1080+1920+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 509mm x 286mm
   1920x1080     60.00*+

Is it possible to have the preview use the 2 screens?

left screen: the thumbnails
right screen: the actual preview

Right now the only time I can use the 2 screens with is DK on 1
screen and the light table on the other screen.

Hi,

I use 2 screens here, and the embeded is ... "embeded", so with F3 it's not possible to export the view on second screen.

But the slide show tool can be exported on the second screen and work very well.

A second solution is to open file on editor to preview. As editor is a separate view, it's possible to move it on second screen.

Hi Gilles,

What I was hoping was to make the screen 3840 x 1080 so I could
place the preview on 1 side and the thumbnails on the other side

Re: 2 monitors

This is exactly how slideshow can run. In fact, Slideshow core use the preview mode to render image on screen.

You can run slideshow on the second screen while album view still on the first screen.

Yes and I'd love to do the same with the thumbnail views, previews
and tabs.
