digiKam bugzilla components mostly triaged...

Gilles Caulier-4
Hi all,

I pass a lots of time since few weeks to triage all bugzilla entries
including sections to host files by categories.

If you look to this page, you will see all components, with
descriptions and count of entries :

https://bugs.kde.org/editcomponents.cgi?product=digikam&showbugcounts=1

The "general" category is the generic component when user fill a
report without to select right section. Typically, this component must
still empty and files must be dispatched at the right place. This is
the task of developers named "bugs triage". I do it generally while
the summer.

But, as a lots of new components exists now, the reporter will have
access to this list and will be able to triage file himself. This will
be a gain of time.

Perhaps the component descriptions are not enough detailled. In this
case don't hesitate to report or fix the problem yourself.

I hope to not forget a component. If it miss something, let's me hear
or do it yourself in bugzilla.

Note : I don't yet triaged all older files. It take a while to decrypt
data especially when users explain not very well the problem. But look
for ex in Metadata-Video component. Mostly all files are crashes due
to Exiv2 video support :

https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?component=Metadata-Video&list_id=1457563&product=digikam

And i'm sure than others one will increase this list from un-triaged
files. This confirm the stage of this critical part from Exiv2.

Best

I can not open this link.

Sorry, you aren't a member of the 'editcomponents' group, and so you are not
authorized to add, modify or delete components.

Ho.I thinking this list was public (even if no modification can be done).

Your account have now the right credential in bugzilla. Try again.

Gilles Caulier-4
The public version of this list is this one :

https://bugs.kde.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=digikam

But this version is not able to give the entries number by component.
