You could search with "apt-file search libmediawiki" in shell. _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list ᐧ

Hi Gilles,
Is there a way to preserve configuration? Does digikam 5 start all over, or does it keep information in the existing digikam database? Do I need backup? Anders, Check how to move old configs to use them for digikam 5 here:https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364258#c7 On Tue, Jul 5, 2016 at 10:56 PM, Anders Lund <[hidden email]> wrote: Hi Gilles, |

It's always better to backup all. But typically Sqlite DB is not changed and it use it as well. The Mysql Database change, due of lots of bugs. It's safe to restart it from scratch. There is a bug about general settings (digikamrc files). The place is different to store KDE application rc files and digiKam ignore for the moment the older one. I made a backup, and ran digikam 5. It read the database fine, but the application configuration was appearently lost. > Kindly, > Anders > > tirsdag den 5. juli 2016 17.05.45 CEST skrev Gilles Caulier: > > Dear all digiKam fans and users, > > > > The digiKam development team is proud to release digiKam > > Software Collection 5.0.0. yes exactly. the previous digiKam configuration is not lost, it's not read from older place where rc files are stored. Before to ask me why we don't do it and why we don't close this file before to release 5.0.0 : ... well we have seen some crash when specific old settings are taken from old RC files. We have not find which one exactly crash digiKam. So releasing digiKam 5.0.0 without to support older settings is better. We start with a fresh configuration. No problem, just the appearence of the first config dialog was a bit scary, because of the idea of it not using the database :) Kindly, Anders > Gilles Caulier > > 2016-07-06 11:08 GMT+02:00 Anders Lund <[hidden email]>: > > tirsdag den 5. juli 2016 22.56.17 CEST skrev Anders Lund: > > > Hi Gilles, > > > > > > Is there a way to preserve configuration? Hello, Congratulations for the 5.0.0 release ! Unfortunately, I found a bug : when you want to export pictures by mail, and choose to adjust picture parameters (size, quality, etc), the new mail created doesn't contain any pictures attached. When you don't use automatic picture adjustment (pictures remain in native size and format), the mail has the pictures attached. That is quite anoying, because this function is the more I use. System : Archlinux 64 bit, up to date Plasma 5.7 Qt 5.7 KF5 5.23 Thank you for your help. The migration from 4.x to 5.x is now implemented in First Run Assistant into next 5.3.0 release. Gilles Caulier 2016-07-05 23:04 GMT+02:00 Philip Johnsson <[hidden email]>:
