Recently I got the 3.2 release from fedora on my computer. Sadly the
rename function on import is still not working. Is this fixed in 3.3?

Not yet fixed. There is a report on bugzilla about. We work on it currently...

There is a patch to test for this issue here :

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=314441

Please check it and report in this bugzilla file if this fix the
problem for you.
