Starting from yesterday I ran into the same problem.
Downgrading libkipi as suggest does not solve the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, jay _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
What is the error message from digikam if you start digikam from a
terminal/shell? Are you using KDE 4.6.5 or 4.7.1? /Philip On Tue, Oct 11, 2011 at 3:41 AM, schaffner <[hidden email]> wrote: > Starting from yesterday I ran into the same problem. > > Downgrading libkipi as suggest does not solve the problem. > > Any suggestions? > > Thanks, jay > > > _______________________________________________ > Digikam-users mailing list > [hidden email] > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users > > Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Using: ubuntu 11.04 natty with natty updates
repos and digikam 2.2 from philips ppa:
Same shell output as described by others: QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in use, all queries will cease to work.I am using KDE 4.6.5 from ubuntu natty updates and have tried with libkipi versions 4.6.2 (from your ppa philip) and v. 4.6.5 (from natty updates). Both result in digikam 2.2 aborting after splashscreen with the above error messages. Now I just figured out that digikam 2.2 starts clean with the third version of libkipi8 I found in my repos: I now use 4.6.5 (from natty ppa: 4:4.6.5~natty~ppa1). Still have to check functions and stability of digikam... Thanks, Jay. libkipi8 4:4.6.5~natty~ppa1 is part of my latest update of kdegraphics
in my "extra" PPA. It's rebuild with updated libkipi and to use exiv2 0.22 in all the kdegraphics parts. I'm not going into what I think happened with libkipi8 before when digikam didn't work but you got the wrong versions of the package. Now I works as it should for all of you (hopefully). Happy digikaming! /Philip On Tue, Oct 11, 2011 at 1:53 PM, schaffner <[hidden email]> wrote: > Using: ubuntu 11.04 natty with natty updates repos and digikam 2.2 from > philips ppa: > Same shell output as described by others: > > QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in > use, all queries will cease to work. > digikam: symbol lookup error: digikam: undefined symbol: > _ZN4KIPI21ImageCollectionSharedD2Ev > > I am using KDE 4.6.5 from ubuntu natty updates and have tried with libkipi > versions 4.6.2 (from your ppa philip) and v. 4.6.5 (from natty updates). > Both result in digikam 2.2 aborting after splashscreen with the aboveĀ error > messages. > > Now I just figured out that digikam 2.2 starts clean with the third version > of libkipi8 I found in my repos: I now use 4.6.5 (from natty ppa: > 4:4.6.5~natty~ppa1). > > Still have to check functions and stability of digikam... > > Thanks, Jay. > > > On 10/11/2011 07:29 AM, Philip Johnsson wrote: > > What is the error message from digikam if you start digikam from a > terminal/shell? OK, seems like I got a little confused with all the
libkipi versions available.
Anyway, big THANK YOU for all the brilliant work, immediate replies, and your ppa! Just can't imagine my photo workflow without digikam on linux anymore...
