I have compiled digiKam using emerge, and have ended up with something that reports itself as "v1.2.0 using KDE Development Platform 4.4.62 (KDE 4.4.62 (KDE 4.5 >= 20100203)) Build date: Feb 5 2010". I assume this is the latest development version, not an official release?
This is an old problem, but I didn't want to report it till I had a recent version running. If I select a photo and press Delete, it offers to move it to the trash, then fails with "The process for the trash protocol died unexpectedly". The file remains undeleted. Am I right in guessing that the "trash" it is talking about is not the Windows Recycle Bin? If I press shift+Delete, it offers to permanently delete it, then fails with "Could not delete file". The file is in fact deleted. Correct result, but why the error message? And can anyone confirm this problem? _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Thanks, I'll file a bug. Which version are you running?
I assume this feature works ok under Linux? -------------------------- Sent using BlackBerry ----- Original Message ----- From: Andrew Goodbody <[hidden email]> To: digiKam - Home Manage your photographs as a professional with the power of open source <[hidden email]> Sent: Sat Feb 06 07:41:18 2010 Subject: Re: [Digikam-users] digiKam 1.2.0(!) for KDE on Windows fails when deleting or moving to trash Peter Shute wrote: > If I select a photo and press Delete, it offers to move it to the > trash, then fails with "The process for the trash protocol died > unexpectedly". Go to the bug and click on the vote link, bottom middle of the grey summary box, you'll see that I already added my 20 votes to it, you can add up to 20 more of your own.
