digiKam 1.2.0(!) for KDE on Windows fails when deleting or moving to trash

pshute
I have compiled digiKam using emerge, and have ended up with something that reports itself as "v1.2.0 using KDE Development Platform 4.4.62 (KDE 4.4.62 (KDE 4.5 >= 20100203)) Build date: Feb 5 2010".  I assume this is the latest development version, not an official release?

This is an old problem, but I didn't want to report it till I had a recent version running.

If I select a photo and press Delete, it offers to move it to the trash, then fails with "The process for the trash protocol died unexpectedly".  The file remains undeleted.  Am I right in guessing that the "trash" it is talking about is not the Windows Recycle Bin?

If I press shift+Delete, it offers to permanently delete it, then fails with "Could not delete file".  The file is in fact deleted.  Correct result, but why the error message?

And can anyone confirm this problem?

I would guess that the 'trash' it is talking about is the Windows
Recycle Bin.

Yes, I see the same behaviour.

Thanks, I'll file a bug. Which version are you running?

I assume this feature works ok under Linux?

I would guess that the 'trash' it is talking about is the Windows

Recycle Bin.

Pretty much the same as you ie svnHEAD from a few days ago on XP.

But you haven't voted for it yet. You need to do this to show the devs
that you actually care about getting it fixed. Go to the bug and click
on the vote link, bottom middle of the grey summary box, you'll see that
I already added my 20 votes to it, you can add up to 20 more of your own.
