dates in video files

Luis Bernardo-3

Hello. I am having some problems with the dates for video (*.avi) files.

For instance, I have a particular video file that shows (once we
configure digikam to show the file modification date for thumbnails) the
date 2006-01-28 16:35. Now, if I use the File Browser and look at the
files properties I have the dates 2006-01-19 19:59:48 as the Modified
date (the time the picture was taken), 2006-02-11 11:47:37 as the
Accessed date (I just looked at the file today), and 2006-01-28 16:36:01
as the Last Changed date (the time the file was moved from the camera to
the desktop). If I go to the folder the file is and do a ls -l I get:
-rwxr-xr-x  1 lmpmbernardo lmpmbernardo 11702008 Jan 19 19:59 imgp1315.avi

The question is then, a) why is Digikam using the "Last Changed" date
instead of the "Modified" date, and/or b) how can I force it to show the
"Modified" date.

Also, for some reason this does not happen for all video files. I think
the problem happens if I have Digikam launched and showing the album
where I am moving the video files to as I do the file transfer. I also
used the mv command to move the files from the camera to the desktop.

Thanks,
Luis

It seems that the date shown in Digikam in the time the thumbnail was
generated and that is the time that is recorded in the database.
