curve Adjust Tool not working anymore

Hi,

since one of the last commits concerning the curves the curve adjust
tool doesn't work anymore. No more histogram is painted in the curves
and the curves do not show any difference in the preview widget.

This can be easily done without an automated test... well anyway I will take a
look at this now...
