Hash: SHA1 Hi, I have digikam 1.2.0 on KDE 4.3.5 running, system is (now) LinuxMint 8 Helena with Gnome. All 64bit. Now, when I want to view cr2 files in the editor, it shows only a fraction of the image and that is also only in green, as if someone painted green over a b&w picture. Doesn't look good. Also converted images from the cr2 file look like that. I guess it's a problem in the KDE and I have to wait for the next version (I was already further, some might remember, when I still used OpenSuse, but I got too many problems with it), but I just wanted to make sure. I know that something like this was discussed earlier, but as it didn't affect me, I didn't bother... Thanks for any hints, otherwise I'll just be patient and hope for the best... ;-) Martin -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkvR34cACgkQUmmuY48ByEiW/ACfUsV19G4XfkEILcj+M4JJtOx5 ic4AniONrCt77auIIDC4JFEsu828U8v3 =73mL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users drmartinus.vcf (387 bytes) Download Attachment |

I have some strange results if I use non default colour profiles in showfoto which I don't have in ufraw. > I guess it's a problem in > the KDE and I have to wait for the next version (I was already > further, some might remember, when I still used OpenSuse, but I > got too many problems with it), but I just wanted to make sure. It's exactly the same like in digikam. I have prepared a snapshot to see: http://www.drmartinus.de/downloads/strange_raw.png. CR2 files from which camera? As far as I know, 7D and 550D RAW files can't be read in digikam yet.

However, I could work with cr2-images without problems before I switched to LinuxMint. So digikam should be able to handle it. And since ufraw shows the same behaviour, I suspect another reason, but I have no clue unfortunately... -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkvSdGcACgkQUmmuY48ByEhj4ACggtOqVrZqwupzKwn7rCCFU4m4 L9kAn3djG/F/R7q7ZsQ/65eIOUV0kLs0 =bVE0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users drmartinus.vcf (530 bytes) Download Attachment |
I've tried to open a 7D cr2 file in every release of digikam starting back with 1.0, so far with no success. The latest alpha of Rawtherapee opens them, but the software is still quite unstable.
Of course, there's no problems with cr2 files from older cameras (mine is a 400D).

What if you check the version of UFRaw (or libkdcraw, which is used by digiKam) between your previous and current setup? BTW UFRaw tells you it cannot handle camera white balance presets. regards, Milan Knizek knizek (dot) confy (at) volny (dot) cz http://www.milan-knizek.net - About linux and photography (Czech language only) _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Not sure what you mean by open 7D cr2 files but I can display them fine in Digikam - never had a problem since I recently got the camera. I can put them onto the "light table" and view them. Haven't really tried editing them in Digikam as I do that in photoshop. I'm running v1.1.0 as the latest hasn't hit the depository (portage) for Gentoo yet, which is what I run. (I could grab it from an overlay but things are pretty usable now for me). /jim _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I checked the version of libkdcraw, but I can't compare to the previous setup. I'm however pretty sure this is an earlier version than I had on my previous setup. Now it's 4.3.5. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAkvSp64ACgkQUmmuY48ByEhZgACcDtObZGX6JWvrGn99QQc8mEBe 7LQAn3lwaQUbuItC5h0BgkLXSfCZpCwQ =tyIW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users drmartinus.vcf (530 bytes) Download Attachment |

You almost certainly need to update dcraw. Which means an up to date version of ufraw (0.17) and kdegraphics for digikam. sean _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
