color space of embedded previews

Hi,

whenever I test a color management bug, i discover just another one ;-)
When digikam saves an image, we save a preview image in IPTC.
I dont know if there is any official specification for this.

Is this preview supposed to be sRGB, or in the color space of the main image?

The preview is JPEG image which must be sRGB by default
