changing time and date in digikam

Bert Haverkamp
Dear all,

I am using digikam for a long time on ubuntu (current version 16.04)
I just switched from 4.12 to 5.3 because the old version crashed
consistently on changing time and date of a few photos and I thought I'd
try my luck with the newer version.

So I installed 5.3 from ppa. However, in the new version I can not seem
to find some functions:
How can I filter for certain pictures in a folder? In 4.2 I could simply
apply a text filter and it would select only those files in the current
working folder.
How is this done in 5.3? I found the advanced filter, but it is much
less convenient. Am I missing something?

And I couldn't find the "Adjust time and date" at all. Is this gone? How
can I add or subtract a few hours from a selected set of picture to
adjust for timezone shifts (or forgotten Daylight saving.. :-)
Where is it hidden?

Kind regards,

Bert

the text filter is in Filter tab from right sidebar.

It's not embedded in BQM. It can be chained with other tool in a workflow.

Re: changing time and date in digikam

Hi Gilles,

Thanks for the quick rely. Had to look for a while, but BQM is Batch Queue Manager:-)

And I found it. I have to get used to the new layout. For my workflow, it is not the most convenient layout, it seems atm.  But it might be a matter of getting used to it. Thanks for the great work on digikam though.

Two requests:

Is there a way to make a quick link to a filter in the BQM in the toolbar?

And how can I quickly make the search only work in the current album you are working in? The text search is by default across all album. And digging down into the tree of Albums to select only the current one is very cumbersom.

Regards,

Bert

You cannot, but you can create BQM workflow settings to replay later on different image set

This is not yet implemented but i know a file exist in bugzilla about this topic.

Re: changing time and date in digikam

Hi Gilles,

No problem. I'll can wait. My first observation is that the framework is much more general and I assume the code has also been structured that way. But some common workflows have been moved deep down in the gui be cause of this. (at least in my case.)

An other quick question.

How can I force BQM to overwrite the original file? I set the target as the original filename, but bqm doesn't overwrite, but adds a _1 to all files.

I probably overlook something obvious again:-)

Regards,

Bert

In BQM settings view on the bottom, "Behavior" tab, turn on "Overwrite automatically" option.
