cannot search albums

Walter Sams
I just installed and setup digikam on a linux 64bit os  Mageia1 distro  with kde destop

I set the location of the picture folders to the external usb drive connected to my system  which has a lot of pictures in it.

I ran the indexing routein  and it very clearly shows all of my folders and pics and they seem to be called albums.  However when I try to tell it to look for duplicates I cannot get the program to recognize the albums.  I tried highlighting the subfolders but it still says I have no album selected.

I dont have a myseql database setup, I just used my existing folders

can someone help me get started troubleshooting this problem?

Do you processed Fingerprints computation on these albums before to
try to search duplicates?
