I ended up with XMP sidecar for every JPEG despite I wanted the metadata to
be writted in JPEGs themselves.
Is this normal behavior?

Yes these messages are normal. Even if you won't to use XMP side car, and write in image file as well, these kind of messages will appear on the console.
