Hello,
I use(d) this feature only very once in a while, but now I wanted to see where exactly a mobile phone image was taken. But I could not find the icon or menu-entry for this feature anymore... Google (as almost always) only gives me outdated information about digikam 2 etc.... I Use Version 5.5.0 KDE Frameworks 5.21.0 Qt 5.5.1 (kompiliert gegen 5.5.1) Das xcb Fenstersystem Somehow digikam must be able to read the geotags, because when I click on "map" (Karte) in the menu, the images are positioned correct. Also the "Extras -> Geolokalisierung bearbeiten" (edit geo localisation?) in the right sidebar shows the coordinates of the image. But what I am looking for is that map that was shown with the precise Position of one image (one could choose between google and another provider...). Where can I find that? Thanks for hints! Look in Item/Edit Geolocation menu.
Note that Geolocation editor is now available everywhere : Showfoto, image editor, and light table. It's the same for Metadata Editor. With next 5.6.0 just release, you have also Tools menu with more share options avaialble everywhere, as Panorama, Calendar, Stacked Image, HTML Gallery, and a new one : Video Slideshow. With next 5.7.0, It will have Send By Email, and Print Creator tools. All will be avaialble everywhere, including Showfoto. Yes, I have seen that, but I can't zoom the map up to the detalled
location (street...). The attached screenshot shows the maximum zoom, can't get closer. Or have I just not found where to click??? Thank you Gilles for the fast answer! That was what I was looking for!
(I was clicking everywhere except that botton, because it's empty without an icon and I didn't even look at it, thought it was something inactive, like decoration :-) ) Am 03.07.2017 um 21:24 schrieb Gilles Caulier: > On the bottom left of map, the first button give a menu to choose the > kind map to use. I think switching from OSM to Google Maps will help.
