Like i cannot reproduce this problem on my computer with you rpicture sample, we need to investiguate better.
Question : can you give me the root album library path where are stored your pictures. Are you used a network shared path ? I can try to build from SVN, but that will be in a few days. > Question : can you give me the root album library path where are stored your > pictures. Hello,
Just to make it a bit clearer for me (and maybe others) : If I'm not wrong, there are a few dates associated with a picture : 1) in file properties : - time of last access (not very useful for us) - time of last change in the data of the file - time of last modification of the file status (ususally, change and modification date are the same) This is common to any file on a unix file system. 2) in EXIF : at least - DateTime - DateTimeOriginal - DateTimeDigitized And also some fields in IPTC. Could you configure digiKam to display in tooltip "camera date" and "file date" ? And also, configure digiKam (Album settings) to display "file creating date" and "file modification date" Then, give us the 2 dates you get... I thought that I turned on all the available dates in the tooltips, but I may have missed one or three. Fabien, in the meantime I'll forward to you a screenshot that I sent to Gilles. Thanks. Dotan,
You can check into you sqlite database file if image date stamp are correct. The file is digikam3.db stored in you root album library path. i use 'sqlitebrowser' program to display content. others DB GUI don't work properlly (kexi, knoda, etc.) http://sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net/ The file content have some tables easy to understand. If you don't understand DB stuff, you can send this file by private mail. Hi,
Dotan, I received your screenshot. There's one thing that is unclear : - we can see that the photograph properties are correct, showing the right creation date, in the tooltip and in the sidebar (2 different pictures) - we can see other pictures in the main thumbnail view which have the same date for creation and modification Does this apply to all your pictures, ie creation date showed under the thumbnail doesn't match the creation date you see in the photograph properties ? If it's the case, that would be the problem. I guess this is why Gilles asked you the database to check it... I'll check the DB tomorrow when I get home. In any case, exiv2 0.14 has been released today, so I'll install that as well and report back. Thanks! Alright, I think that I've identified the problem. The database has
the wrong dates for some reason. I simply copied the database from my old 0.9.0 installation. But when I copy and reimport a photo, then it has the correct date. I would simple erase the digikam.db file, but then I would lose all my tag information. Is there a way to either: 1) Have the database rebuild the date information? or 2) Save the tag information so that I can reimport the photos? Thanks in advance.
