Hi,
since I upgrade to Digikam 2.1.1, I no longer manage to use the function "Write metadata to images". Actually, when I click on it Digikam launches the process but it never ends. I hangs at 99%, but I think I does not touch my picture files at all. I doubled checked directly with exiv2 -pa and indeed metadata are not updated at all. Is this a known bug, I didn't find anything like that on the net. I also tried a fresh install an I'm able to reproduce it all the time. Launching digikam from command line does not provide any error message either. Any help would be greatly appreciated -- Bruno _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Hi Bruno,
It is a known problem. The function is still under construction. There have been recent posts here regarding the subject. Ok thanks for the info,
strange it is under construction when AFAIk it has been working for months. I hope it will be fixed soon. -- Bruno On 11-09-24 04:52 PM, sleepless wrote: > Hi Bruno, > > It is a known problem. No, this function is not under construction.
Only XMP sidecar support which can be relevant of metadata writing action is not yet complete. If you don't use XMP sidecar, it's not the problem. Look into Exiv2 library. This one is used to play with metadata on images. Too show debug info into the console, run kdebugdialog and turn on right digikam debug space (including KExiv2). start digiKam into the console and look all messages printed.
