Hello,
I just updated my DigiKam to 4.8.0 through Macports this afternoon. I was very excited to finally be able to use the Flickr uploader as this is central to my workflow. I clicked "export to Flickr" and received a dialogue box that says: "Please follow the instructions in the browser window, then return to press corresponding button." However nothing happens in my browser. I have done this with Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all open (one at a time). I am running OS X 10.9.5 and have the most updated Chrome and Safari. Not 100% sure about Firefox. Ideally I would like this to be working with Chrome as that is my preferred browser. What am I missing? Thanks, Marie

I'm not sure but i think KDE browser will be used to show connection
page. In KDE control panel there is a settings about to chooses default web browser (by default, it's konqueror). Unfortunatly, KDE control panel is not fully available under macports due to X11 dependencies at compilation time, which break package since X11 have been droped by Apple under OSX. I already tried to patch KDE code to have an uncomplete compilation (KDE Control Panel is cut in small parts), but for another problem (widget and color themes support), and it's the hell... I know that a KDE core developer has posted a lots of fixes for OSX support. I think last KDE release must include that. Perhaps you solution is to install konqueror. It included in "kde4-baseapps" macports package. Marie,
Under OSX, did you have a bloated widgets size rendering ? huge button, weird layout, etc... Thanks so much for the quick reply, Gilles. I'll give this all a try in the morning (a torked shoulder has put me to bed with snacks and Netflix for the night). I'll let you know how it goes.
I should be able to follow these instructions using the path for Chrome to the same effect, eh? About bloated widgets, yes, the buttons are very big. But everything seems to be in the right place and is perfectly useable if a little bit ugly. Strangely, earlier today after using 4.0.0 for a couple months it started crashing if applying tags to multiple images at once. That seems to be resolved after upgrading to 4.8.0 tonight. -M

Argh! So close. I found the KDE control panel and pointed it towards Chrome. However nothing launches to authenticate Flickr (or Facebook) from within Digikam and when I go back to the control panel to check my settings nothing has stuck. I tried it with both Chrome and Safari. I tried with older digiKam version, it's the same. I don't yet found the problem. I think it's relevant of KDE widget theme, but i'm not sure... Yes, the full path is set using the file select dialogue. I have tried setting it both to Chrome (what I want) and Safari (just for test). Neither setting seems to hold. This morning I decided to try rebooting the computer and made some progress. After reboot, DigiKam now launches Konqueror browser (but not the ones I set) and it takes me to the login page for Flickr. However, it will not let me log in. It gives the error message "the browser you're using refuses to sign in (cookies rejected)" it looks like this: I have no problem using the Konqueror browser rather than Chrome if I can get it to sign in.
