Re: Update problems

Philip Johnsson
Maybe I better make a new update tomorrow without any LD_PRELOAD tweaks, even though I can't understand why it doesn't work for you guys. I just should work as you also say that the file is in the right place but doesn't load.

Using the simple "digikam" from a new menu item, DK appears to be fully
functional. I ran some extensive procedures on an image and everything
looks normal. I can certainly use this as an interim measure.

I know that dosn't help you but I thought I would pass it on.

Re: Update problems

Thanks David. :)

Anyway. I now uploaded a new update without that workaround tweak. It will be available in an hour or so. Still think it's strange it didn't work but it's better not to hassle.

The startup issue which I also had (the libusb one) is gone now that I re-installed.

Thanks very much, Philip

Re: Update problems

bowens44

David,
Did you delete ~/.local/share/applications/kde4-digikam.desktop or
digikam.desktop?

If you do this, log out and back in and you should no longer get the
start-up error. I did this when Phillip suggested it and after
installing the latest, Digikam now launches fro the menu

After all of the dust has settled, we went ahead and reinstalled on the same box as before with no problems this time. Looks like it's working correctly now.

Thanks for all that you do and for putting the files out there. It's really appreciated here.
