Dear Community
I would like to test 5.7 but first I need to uninstall previous version (5.6) however this process responsible for uninstallation or checking if can be safely removed is stopping (Au_.exe) Pozdrawiam

Problem not reproducible under Win7.
I already seen under Windows that install/uninstall require a supplemental stage to be authenticated. In all case, the digiKam installer only copy files where you install it ( as by default C:/propgram files/...) Removing this directory as well must be enough. The installer at install time, check : 1/ if an instance run in memory 2/ if install dir is present. I do not touch the base registery of windows. Well... I have deleted manually C:\Program Files\digiKam While attempting to install 5.7 exacaly same issue araise - installer is checking if can safely install and and some point whole process crashes. Is there any way to skip this validation check? 2017-07-22 10:32 GMT+02:00 Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]>: Problem not reproducible under Win7. Pozdrawiam

I think Windows defender (or something like that) block the installer
until you give credential to process. I seen this kind of problem in the pass. Gilles Caulier 2017-07-22 11:24 GMT+02:00 Adam Skiba <[hidden email]>: > Well...
