Hi Oliver,
I have seen than you commit reguliary German translation updates in svn (.po files). So you have an access to svn in writting mode. You can fix English strings directly in source code. It's easy to do. Just grep string to fix in whole digiKam repository and edit .cpp files relevant. Check if your fix compile. If all is fine commit changes to svn as well. Note: strings to translate are wrapped around i18n("...") macro in source code.
