Hi,
it's a little curious - when I'm doing some taggings or writing a comment into pics, some of these pics get a 4-star-rating at all, without any choice of mine. It's allways a 4star-rating nor more not less.
Now I filter exact all pics with 4star-ratings, and then I try to reduce (after mark all) the rating to 0-star and press apply - but just about half of the selected pics are gone from the filter-selection, the other pics allready have this 4-star-rating. At least it needs some more applyings with 0-star-rating to be successfull.
DK5.3.0-01 AppImg also as in the native App (in Kubuntu 16.04, from ppa)

yes, maybe there is a relation to the xmp-files - after switching of writing xmp I had no more this problem ...
