Tool tips in invisible ink

Ignatius Reilly
Hello,

On my system the tool tips are nearly invisible, being in white font
over a light turquoise box.

I have DK 2.7.0 from Philip's PPA, on Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome 3.4.1

Any help is welcome.

Thanks

Ignatius

I have pretty much the same thing with Fedora 17 and digikam 2.7.0,
while on Windows the tooltips are OK with the exception of those when
hovering over a file in the collection view. The headings display in
black but the text is in very pales colour (might be blue) on a white
or very pale yellow background.

I can't find any way of changing the background or the foreground text
in either Windows or Fedora.

It might have something to do with your desktop choice.
I'm also running Digikam 2.7.0 with Fedora 17, but with XFCE desktop. I haven't had this kind of problem for quite a long time (several months/versions ago). As for now, I'm using the Wonton Soup theme, that gives a rather dark-grey background with very light grey fonts; previously, I used the standard theme, but didn't like it so much as its background was white.

You need the KDE control panel which on Debian the package is called
'sysyemsettings'. You may need to install some KDE themes as well but I
can't remember what I did about that. With systemsettings and
appropriate themes you can choose a more legible theme.

Re: Tool tips in invisible ink

Ignatius Reilly
Thanks Andrew,

In fact I found that the scheme colours can be manipulated from DK
itself (Settings > Themes)

It requires a restart of the application to see the effects.

Cheers
