Is it just me or there is only one theme in dk beta 5 (running dk in Natty). When I try to change the theme the only option is "Default". Thanks. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

original theme from digiKam core have been removed. Now digiKam theme
manager use KDE theme instead, for compatibility purpose, especially with Gnome and other desktops. in digiKam theme menu, there is a settings entry, that launch KDE control center to install and manage new color themes. Gilles, when I click in the "configure" option nothing happens. Any idea why? (as mentioned before I am using Natty). O.

On Ubuntu the KDE color schemes (themes) comes with package
kdebase-workspace-data and some extra color schemes in package kdeartwork. You also have a few other theme packages that also have color schemes files. Maybe Gnome with Digikam doesn't depend install them? I could add kdebase-workspace-data as a recommended package with digikam2 if that is so for Gnome users. Running Kubuntu with Digikam2 will make you have them from start. /Philip On Mon, May 23, 2011 at 1:40 PM, sleepless <[hidden email]> wrote: > FWIW > No pre configured themes here. > manual configuration seems to work except for some crashes. > used: natty > _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

If you open the themes configuration tool in Digikam you can
automatically install online color schemas (this feature is part of KDE system settings tool). Click on "Get new schemes" and search for "clearlooks" and you will find a scheme called "Clearlooks - GNOME 2.20". Click install and then select scheme "GNOME 2.20" in the to scheme list to use it. Schemes installed this way are only available for current user and not system wide. In KDE it's easy like that to install new themes and looks... ;) /Philip On Mon, May 23, 2011 at 2:11 PM, sleepless <[hidden email]> wrote: > Wonderfull! it worked. Thanks for the detailed desciption. Things are not that hard to do if you know how to. Btw Philip if you read this: do you have any usefull thoughts about my failure building dk 2.0.0 beta 6. My build and installation has ended up with kio slave problems resulting in all albums reported as holding zero images and nothing displayed at all on the screen. Does it sound familiar to you as an experienced packager? You are welcome.
I haven't bothered building/packing anything from git for a while and will wait to do so for the official tarball releases. So far haven't had your kind of problem. Du you have a full build log from your build (use pastebin maybe?) so we can see if there are any errors or missing parts during build? Any error messages if you start and run digikam from the command line that are helpful? /Philip On Mon, May 23, 2011 at 6:50 PM, sleepless <[hidden email]> wrote: > Philip, > > Thanks for the detailed desciption. Philip,
As a matter of fact I had some guidance from Gilles during the process and we took care that all issues had been solved until we had a flawless build. First I did it on my laptop but as I have sayd, it started but did not work, I removed it reinstalled beta 5 from your ppa, that all went without any issue, then I did it on my desktop with exactly the same result. I removed that too and put beta 5 back. All, git and dependencies, are on my computers, so it would not be too hard to do the build again, if you want to have a look at it. Gilles can build successfull. But I doubt if it is a build problem. My search on the internet learned me that this type of problem is as old as digikam itself, and it looks like nobody ever could solve the problem, some have it and others don´t. This is typicly the type of messages that I got: > This is what I get starting digikam from console: > > $ digikam > QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is > still in use, all queries will cease to work. > digikam(22211): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_digikamtags'. > " > digikam(22211)/digikam (core) > Digikam::AlbumManager::slotTagsJobResult: Failed to list tags > digikam(22211): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_digikamdates'. > " > digikam(22211)/digikam (core) > Digikam::AlbumManager::slotDatesJobResult: Failed to list dates > digikam(22211): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_digikamalbums'. > " > digikam(22211)/digikam (core) > Digikam::AlbumManager::slotAlbumsJobResult: Failed to list albums > digikam(22211): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_digikamtags'. > " > digikam(22211)/digikam (core) > Digikam::AlbumManager::slotPeopleJobResult: Failed to list face tags > digikam(22211): couldn't create slave: "Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_digikamalbums'. > " > digikam(22211)/digikam (core) Digikam::ImageAlbumModel::slotResult: > Failed to list url: "Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Error loading 'kio_digikamalbums'. > ." Thanks for your willingness to help Philip!
Finally I solved it by my own I needed this: cmake -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=debugfull -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`kde4-config --prefix` .. instead of this: cmake that´s all. so if ever somebody complains about empty albums and notting displayed probably the kde-config prefix is missing. colors.desktop is part of package systemsettings on Ubuntu that is the
kde system settings application. Maybe the theme configuration feature in Digikam 2.0 is dependent on that too to fully work on Gnome and not just the kcmshell4 command? When using kde from start all this is installed. /Philip On Wed, May 25, 2011 at 11:26 AM, sleepless <[hidden email]> wrote: > No idea if it has any to do with it, but if I type kcm in synaptic I see > > libkcmutils4 (utility classes for using KCM modules) > > it is installed on my system. and yours? > > maybe it is related. > > Rinus > > > Op 25-05-11 01:37, Ozzy schreef: > > I installed kdebase-workspace-data.
