Install KDE control pannel to setup KDE colors theme. It's a run-time
dependency for digiKam...

On my opensuse, it's called 'Configure Desktop', and colours can be changed in
the 'Common Appearance and Behavior' section (under 'Application Appearance'
-> 'Colors')

And yes, you should have it installed if you have a Linux KDE setup.

No, it's a RUNTIME dependency. It's must be resolved by packagers...

you can try to run the KDE Control Centre from command line with  
"systemssettings".

I guess your other apps are using GTK+2.x and probably GTK+3.x, while KDE  
apps use Qt.

Getting a similar look for all of the graphical toolkits is a demanding task.  
Arch linux and Gentoo usually have good information on their Wiki pages.
