Digikam's Export "Email Images" option is exactly what I need except
that it can't send images using mutt. How easy would it be to add mutt as an option? Is it scriptable? -- Chris Green · |

I'm running Digikam on xubuntu and my default mail program *is* mutt but it's not picked up by Digikam. -- Chris Green · |

But shouldn't it follow an XDG standard? Anders |

'galternatives' package allows you to set default programs, e.g browser, mail client,... http://www.debianadmin.com/galternatives-graphical-setup-tool-for-alternatives-configuration-in-ubuntu.html -- Maderios |

Is there not a text config file that I can put the setting in? -- Chris Green · |

I need to set the default in the KDE configuration somehow. ... and anyway I don't think galternatives does what one wants anyway, it's a configuration gui for the 'alternatives' system which allows one (for example) to make 'vi' load one's favourite vi clone out of the many available. It doesn't set the default program for a particular task. -- Chris Green · |
You dont say what version of digikam this relates to. My understanding
of V5 is that it uses the mailto protocol which should open the system default application for that process. What happens with other apps which use mailto? Maybe I'll just wait until my digikam gets updated to 5.x, it's not *that* important, just a minor annoyance. As it is I can manually select thunderbird when using Digikam's export to Email and, as I do have thunderbird installed (though I don't use it) it does work OK. Thanks! :-) -- Chris Green · |
