Thanks to Marcel Wiesweg

Rinus
glad for the things you fixed. I realy need to learn how to build the
latest available.
Is there somewhere a ¨how to build digikam for dummies¨?

Rinus

Re: Thanks to Marcel Wiesweg

Thanks for Marcel,

I recommend to use digiKam Software Collection super repository, which
will download digiKam + kipi-plugins + all relevant shared libs hosted
in KDE git server.

Look here :

https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/graphics/digikam/digikam-software-compilation

Some parts are not yet downloaded automatically, as Exiv2 and Marble.

To inti repository in local :

git clone http://anongit.kde.org/digikam-software-compilation

After that run "download-repos" PERL script.

When all is done, check all depencies explained in core/README and
extart/kipi-plugins/README. You need to install development packages
(ex: libexiv2-devel)

In root folder, run "cmake ." command to configure source code.
To compile it, run "make"

Later, to update your local repository, run "git pull"

Re: Thanks to Marcel Wiesweg

Compiling digiKam under windows is more complicated than under linux
or mac. But i do it with mingw and M$ visual C++ using some tunning.

I recommend you to do it unde Linux in first, and after that, under
windows. When you want to try with Redmond Os, let's me hear your
questions...

Rinus
Gilles,

Thanks for your generous offer. I need to find some time to experiment.
If I got stuck, I turn to you.
