Hi,
I'm a c++ and qt developer. I would like to get involved in the KDE project. I've just read http://www.kde.org/getinvolved/development and ask for mentoring. Could you suggest me some little task to start coding with Digikam? -- Nicola Brisotto _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |
2008/12/22 Nicola Brisotto <[hidden email]> etc...Hi, hi,
Welcome. We are a lots of pending tasks to second of course. But before to make a choice, please let's me hear more than this: what is your preferred domain in development for digiKam : - database management. - multi-threading. - image treatment, algorithms. - gui design, usability. - photo management (RAW, metadata, etc...). We are currently in 0.10.0 beta8 (KDE4) with rc1 planed in January 2009: http://www.digikam.org/drupal/about/releaseplan All lead developments are oriented for KDE4. KDE3 is only in maintenance. We will support you with your first steps of course ;-) > Could you suggest me some little task to start coding with Digikam? Are you already using digikam for KDE4? Your first step would be to set up your KDE4 development environment (get devel packages from your distribution), get digikam and kdegraphics/libs from SVN and compile. If you have a certain functionality that you really would like to implement that is a good starting point. Or you just run digikam and find out something bothering you, so start reading the code... We do not have a meta-documentation of our codebase (in the sense of "this folder contains the code to...") but there are comments and API docs of course. We are currently in bug fix mode and will start with new features only after 0.10 is released, so little bug fixes are most welcome ;-) Have fun Marcel _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |

2008/12/22 Nicola Brisotto <[hidden email]> I would like to work on: What do you think about these bugzilla entries: Advanced image resize tool using Seam Carving: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=149485 It's a new plugin for editor. And this one too, to make a HDR tool: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144593 We are also 2 other one but it's more dedicated later 0.10.0 because it touch digiKam core : a Kross interface to make digiKAm scriptable : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146866 a Face recognition interface : http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146288 Best Gilles Caulier _______________________________________________ Digikam-devel mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-devel |
