Hi all,
I'm new to DigiKam. Until now I used the Windows program "IMatch" to tag my photos, because this was the only one I could find (years ago), whicht stores the keyword withion the picture itself. Since this program is nearly the only one I still need Windows for, I want to give DigiKam a try. In IMatch I have hierarchical categories, eg. "animals.carnivores.cats.lion". When I open the image in Gwenview, I can find the complete tag under categories. Opening the same picture in DigiKam the field "tags" is empty. Moving (with IMatch) the tags to "Keywords", in DigiKam only the last keyword appears ("lion") in the "tags" field when moving the mouse over the thumbnail. The first keywords are missing ("animals.carnivores.cats"), so I can only search for pictures with "lion", but not with e.g. "carnivores". Am I doing something wrong or is there a way to solve this problem? Thanks for helping! Richard -- Richard Müller . Am Spring 9 . Hi, First Q : which DK version do you use ? 2 => I'm sure that iMatch interroperability is not implemented in source code, but with 5.0.0 we have introduced a tool to customize the interroperability between metadata and database. In this screenshot you can see the setting to backport ACDsee tags in DK. So, i recommend to make a try with digiKam 5.0.0 for Windows. The 32 bits installer is ready to download : (64 bits version is in the queue) Gilles Caulier 2016-07-05 11:42 GMT+02:00 Richard Müller <[hidden email]>: Hi all, _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Hello Gilles,
thank you very much for your fast answer. 1. You recommended to install a 5.0 win 32-bit package. I'm running Linux (Ubuntu 14.04, 64 bit). I found a tarball digikam-5.0.0.tar.xz. Can I use it to bypass the mentioned problems? 2. On the screenshot I found, that "/" or "|" should be used to structure hierarchical categories. Can I use the dot (".") too? 2. The needed metadata are stored in an IPTC field. Does that matter? On the screenshot I found, that "/" or "|" should be used to yes 2. The needed metadata are stored in an IPTC field. Does that matter? i'm not sure yet as XMP must be used everywhere...
