I'm using Mint 15 Gnome/Cinnamon, fully patched, and I am using DK 3.1.0 from the Mint repositories. I've installed the KDE systemsettings utility. From within DK Settings>Themes>Configuration opend systemsettings, and I can change the tooltip colours.Change to yellow on white, I get yellow on white. Change to black on white (#000000 on #FFFFFF), in DK I get black on white. Change to white on black, I get white on white. I had the same problem when using OpenSuse 12.x I've worked around it by selecting black on white, which I can at least read, but it's obviously very buggy. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
This is an usual bug, only under Gnome.
You must inall KDE control center to be able to manage color themes. digiKam do not have theme. All come from KDE files. Sound like files are missing under Gnome. This is typically a packaging problem... I had that problem as well, I think it is conflict between Gnome and
KDE.
I am running Gnome desktop on Debian Wheezy and Jessie. I think you have already done this, but the note I made when I fixed mine was - To fix - install systemsettings and run from a terminal go to Applications Appearance > Colors > Colors and change Tooltip Text to a darker colour Mick On 26/01/14 10:13, Neil Haughton wrote:

Yes, I had done that both from within DK and from a terminal. Consistent behaviour - DK does not honour the background colour change. Neil On Jan 26, 2014 10:23 AM, "Mick Sulley" <[hidden email]> wrote:

I am running Ubuntu since long time, and had this kind of matter since a long time with digikam on Gnome like desktop environnement. It appears to me that the GTK+ KDE graphic component is buggy. Go In digikam setting / Others (or Various, I have menu in French "Divers"/ and select something else than "GTK+" in graphic component style option (still not sure of the exact menu entry). Personally I've chose "Cleanlooks" I think it should fix your matter (anyway, it fix mine). Le Sun, 26 Jan 2014 11:49:59 +0100, Neil Haughton <[hidden email]> a écrit:

Look this entry for ex : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322789 Personalty i use Oxygen widget style, which is the KDE offcial stuff which is very well maintained and not bugous... So, why don't set Oxygen widget style by default for a first time install ?

Possibly because I didn't think of it at the time..... If you don't know the default has an issue, you are not likely to think to change it at installation, are you? But the problem is solved for me now.On 26 January 2014 12:46, Photonoxx <[hidden email]> wrote: So, why don't set Oxygen widget style by default for a first time install ? _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
2014-01-26 Neil Haughton <[hidden email]> It's not only at Digikam install time.
This setting is often overriden when I update my system with a new desktop version, or whatever that could modify theme and/or widget at system level. Now, I know where to put this thing right as it happens from time to time. I didn't speake about what you have or not did but about Digikam default settings. If GTK+ widget give problems, why not just set Oxygen as default widget in digikam default settings ? Le Sun, 26 Jan 2014 13:51:19 +0100, Neil Haughton <[hidden email]> a écrit:

It doesn't make much sense as Digikam settings are regularly overriden by any system/desktop update you can make. At least, that is the case for me, running Fedora with a Cinnamon desktop.2014-01-26 Photonoxx <[hidden email]>

Oxygen is default widget style under KDE desktop. For other desktop, each distro team set a default widget style that can be different. The real question is : why other widget style which have dysfunctions still available if problems still occur ? Where is defined this setting ? Is it a DK setting or a System one's ?
When I change Widget setting in DK, what does it do exactly, and why Digikam can't set something not buggy after new install or I don't know what ? Personally, I experience clear and visible bug only with GTK+ where the background color doesn't take in count KDE theme setting. Because, DK use a plugin interface from Qt/KDE API to load widget style. It's not a compilation time dependency where a check can be done to not use bugous entries. > > Personally, I experience clear and visible bug only with GTK+ where the > background color doesn't take in count KDE theme setting. ^^^ Yes, this is a lead problem which must be reported to Gnome team...
